Yes, i had the same problem at the prodigy concert in feb (see concert in my other playlist).
I filmed next to the sound booth, there is a little steep slope there that gives you 30-40 cm over the people in front of you, it allowed to have fewer heads in the recording.

dude, i wish i could give you a hug. i would have cried if someone failed to take HD vids of the concert but you nailed it!!
what model/make of video camera did you use for filming? the quality is great but sometimes doesn't keep up with the rapid light changes - not your fault of course!

My camera is a Sanyo vpc-hd2000.
It's a great camera, small, excelent opticals and super long optical zoom... but the focus is damn slow (it's a known flaw).
This short coming is specialy noticable in low light, as it has less edges to focus on.
In such a small package, you can't have it all.
