You've captured the essence of Lain's situation, and how she had to delete herself in order to continue her own existence. I'm really glad you made it clear her one exception, by keeping Alice out of the world reset. I don't think people's existence is defined through the eyes of other people, but strong friendships are very much a part of ourselves, and worth keeping if you can, even if it's only one or two people.
