I'm removing all of my piercings! (okay... apart from one) Goth, Work, Alternative, Change

I have decided that I have reached a point in my life where my piercings really do nothing for me... so... I'm being all grown up and taking them out. 0.o

This was cringe worthy at the time but to be honest I don't miss them at all now - my type one diabetes meant they were constantly a nuisance so something good has come of it.
Honestly not sure how I feel about the tattoos 0.o
Must be getting old!

Na, I can't... that's the problem. Well... that's not strictly true... I could get a job. Just... not a very good job, and pretty things unfortunately can't be bought without a good job (or rent/bills...).

I feel for you hun. I used to have more piercings than I have now but I took them out as my septum ring and stretched lobes kind of took over. So I only have three piercings but they are big'uns. My problem is that I love my 20 mil lobes and I don't even know if my septum would heal up...it is around 4/3.5 mil and is quite low so people can see through my nose. At least my tatts are guaranteed to stay :)

I understand why you did it. Sadly, very few places these days are tolerant or accepting of body mods, tattoos, and pretty much the alternative style. A few people have lucked out and landed a job that allows them to dress however they want that still pays enough. Sadly, it isn't the norm. Truth is, you can get *a* job looking alternative. However, getting a well paying job will require sacrifices. As you said your appearance doesn't change who you are on the inside. :)

I can't believe you removed them!! I personally would not want to work anywhere where you are not allowed or it is not accepted to have an alternative style! Good luck though! :)

your ear peircings will take ages to heal up if they are fully healed after been pierced. i didn't wear any earrings for 9 months in my 2nd and 3rd holes and put them in again fine

@P1X1E56 I think it depends on what *type* of job you're going for. Obviously working in an environment that has a dress code you'll have to make certain sacrifices, but not all jobs have the same requirements and you can still find work while having piercings or tattoos or coloured hair. I don't think most people get pierced merely to make a statement. I don't anyway. I have 30 piercings and in the job and am going towards, looking different is actually beneficial.
