Just got a new merrimack- Nov 2011, installer said they improved bracket for the fan. The sound at full blast is not that bad at all; like a regular fan on high with no rattle. And it really pumps out the heat! I am very happy with this AMERICAN made stove! Please buy from small American companies. Great job Vermont Castings!

stuff a shim or insulation under fan it will quite down

my fan is just as loud on my merrimack and also the surround isnt flush.
