This animation depicts the truck and train traffic from the proposed coal mine at Fanny Bay, BC. This mine was recently downgraded and is now slated to produce 1.1 million tonnes of coal a year and require 75 trucks, or 1 train, a day moving the coal to export at Port Alberni.
The original estimate was for 1.5 million tonnes of coal a year requiring 100 trucks a day but would still only need 1 train a day.
Compare this video with the last, and see if you see a difference. I don't.
If you want this mine to use rail rather than trucks, please sign the petition at www.norailnocoal.ca
