Cuomo's alleged "accountant tricks" and Spitzer's plan have nothing to do with the fact that Spitzer won the election with almost 70% of the vote. It was a historic thumping for the state GOP, and it was completely due to Pataki. Speaking of accounting tricks, I wonder what happened to all the money that was wasted on Pataki's pet project. Google "Pataki" and "Museum of Women" to see what I mean.

Kudos to Rudy for analizing the candidates and going where his brain tells him to, not where his party says.

Ah, yes. The smear campaign has begun. I was wondering how long it would take for you folks to crawl out of the woodwork. Rudy dressed in drag as part of a comedy show. He's got a sense of humor and he's not afraid to poke some fun at himself. He also played a cabbie who constantly complained about "freakin' Giuliani." As for having gay friends, so what? Why is that a bad thing exactly?

Are you HIGH? George Pataki was one of the singular WORST GOVERNORS in the history of New York State. Whether you were conservative or liberal there is no question that the man was a political hack of the highest order with delusional aspirations for the Presidency.

Cuomo had his good and bad points as a Governor, but Pataki was a D'Amato lackey. Rudy made a deal for the city. Wouldn't read too much into it.

text97, you're obviously not from New York. If you were here, you would have noticed that the state Republican party has virtually ceased to exist, in large part because of Pataki and his cronyism. It's not a coincidence that the last Republican to win state-wide office in the state was Gov. George himself more than 4 years ago. If you think Spitzer's sweep and the dominance of the Democratic party has nothing to do with Pataki, you're living in a fantasy world.

bigdummy91, I don't know if you're trying to live up to your handle or not, but I can tell you that Cuomo was an absolute disaster. Under his terms in office, NY net lost population, lost 25 Fortune 500 companies, suffered multiple recessions even while the USA was not in recession, and raised taxes 500 separate times. It got so bad that he couldn't get re-elected in a wildly Democratic state. Spitzer's victory had little to do with Pataki.
