  • Nice model and sound decoder. But thats why I dislike QSI because from the factory they sound like some weird GE. Nice work tho man!

  • those lights are sik

  • yea, that sounds more like a GE unit than a EMD.

  • i think it totaly cooli dont have any motive power with sound that engine is sexy as hell i love the warning lights neet i have 4 sd 40-2s in the santa fe 2 blue nd yellows and 2 merger koda colors they are my favorits of my colection

  • UPdate: Been doing some research. QSI, (probably unintentionally) uses a prototype EMD 645E sound scheme. The prototype turbo version is the 645E3, so basically the sound scheme we're hearing on this unit would be for a GP38 or SD38 series. I've communicated with Mr. Quinn of QSI who stated that QSI wants input. I gave him some references to check out to confirm my info. Hopefully QSI will be able to obtain 645E3 series recordings and make them available for the Q2 programmer.

  • The dynamic quality of sound is good, however, I've noticed an annoying problem (for those of us that are looking for prototype accuracy). Where is the turbocharger sound? If you notice on the Tsunami FP45 vid, the turbocharger sound is very well pronounced as is on the prototypes. The SD45, F45, FP45, SD45-2, SD45T-2 all had the same EMD 645 20 cylinder engine. QSI may have slipped a bit here.
