its interesting.. but i dont think i could do this.. i have a phobia of all bugs.. when i was young i stepped on a wasp hive by accident .. bad memory, so i dont like much bugs..

@dapoopta Some use Fluon, Talcum Powder, PTFE, but most use Vaseline.

@amarnamriju No, ants should be just fine if left for a few days. Just make sure they enough water. Whatever setup you have should be able to be kept moist enough for two days.

I want an ant colony but I live at one place during the week and elsewhere during the weekends. Will my unavailability for 2 days a week be a serious problem for the ants? Can they survive without hydration/food renewal for 2 days? Can I pump in extra water/food to last longer?

Woah never seen someone so passionate about Ants, I've kept numerous reptiles however ants are something i've always found amazing but never bothered to keep them myself, maybe someday

@ieatlotz Haha good eye! Yeah, I noticed it afterwards and I placed it (a Myrmica ant) back into its appropriate outworld. I picked it up accidentally with the garbage LOL!
