@tecumseh1175 Africa isn't failing because of Communism. It's failing because of ethnic conflict and the abject poverty that intensifies it. Mobutu's Zaire was a Western ally and look where they are now. Sure, South Africa is doing better than many African countries but they aren't exactly flourishing either.

Democracy is probably a good thing but without the right history, institutions and at least some prosperity, it's incredibly fragile.
