@Davecm008 it's not a matter of cardio shape, but when you've been playing the drums since 10 yrs of age, the body is conditioned for it. alex drank a lot beer and slept till 30 minutes before going on stage. he and ed were big on taking naps before shows.

Alex Van Halen is one of the VERY few GREATEST Rock Drummers of ALL time! I've been playing drums all my life and I believe that Alex knows and does things that most drummers, no matter how talented, will always over look. Alex, you're one of my heros, bro!!!
