You people posting obviously don't understand. A minority, 46, did block this from coming to a vote. The Senate needed 60 votes for cloture, which means end debate and vote on the bill. 43 refused to vote for cloture, this keeping the bill from coming to a vote.
The poster of this video is the one that doesn't understand what was going on.

What part of "No" doesn't Ted Kennedy understand, and why is he Still relevant? It is important to remind people that fewer people have died in accidents involving American Nuclear Powerplants than have in Ted Kennedy's car.

MRK4JC I know about the NAU and the SPP. I am also letting the Rep. party know that after 39 years I am bolting from the party. I am just waiting to do it on Sept 11th. I am also letting my senators know that I feel Bush should be impeached for failing to protect American interests. This is something he has sworn to do, and yet he protects the illegal alien's first! Oh yeah, and my other post was supposed to read "come hell or high WATER", but then I'm sure you all knew that :)

MRK4JC When he stood arm and arm with Kennedy & McCain saying they "we"re going to get this thing done" I was astounded. Bi-partisanship is one thing, on a good bill, but ramming it down our throats come hell or high weater is another!

I think the salt of the earth, American majority has been woken up and are putting their foot down. We need common sence solutions to our problems. Our next President needs to be a Washington outsider. We need to keep tabs on all Senators and Congress too. If they flip/flop or lie, get rid of them asap. Numbers USA tells how each votes and has a report card with grades for each politician.
