A very nice version of the classic Camel song "Slow Yourself Down". This version can be found on "The Paris Collection". To be completely honest, I'm not 100 % sure who appear on this version, so I credited the members of the tour, the same ones who were credited on "The Paris Collection". "Slow Yourself Down" was originallay written by Andrew Latimer and Andy Ward for Camel's debut album, but has been changed a lot two times for live purposes.

Musicians:

Andrew Latimer: Acoustic Guitar and Vocals.
Colin Bass: Second Acoustic Guitar (Don't know he is in this version, if this is recorded in a studio, Andrew probably plays both guitars himself).
Guy LeBlanc: Keyboards.
Denis Clement: Drums and Percussion (Don't know if he is in this version, if so, mostly percussion).

P.S. SORRY about the type-O in the vid... It's OF COURSE supposed to say "Slow Yourself Down", not "Slow Yoursel Down"...

  • I think this was originally credited to just Andy & Guy (apparently with some overdubs on the guitar parts). The Paris Collection is a terrific official bootleg, but as good as it is this version of Camel's very first side-A song stands above the rest of the tracks. It is nothing short of amazing, especially LeBlanc's minimalist transpositions of the original Latimer vocal course around 4:30. Absolutely a masterpiece. Susan posted a short note a little while ago saying Andy is still doing well!

  • @pumpkinhold I saw the note, I'm so glad to hear he's doing good! Hoping for a new Camel album, but in the meantime David Minasian's new album will have to do... Finally a new recording of Andy! After Bardens, I think LeBlanc was the best keyboardplayer Camel had.

  • Nice song Anton! I really like the instrumental part that begins around the 3:00 mark!

  • Thanks Rick! I find this version quite moving, extremely soothing to listen to. Glad you liked it!
