I first heard this African-American spiritual sung by the late great Odetta.

Is it a re-recording, are you snging with yourself. It let me think about old New Orleans fblues and jazz, and about a group I heard on a recording in the sixties, on a record of the Newport Folk Festival, but I didn't remember the name of this group.

Thanks, SirCoughsalot. She did it rather differently, but her version certainly made an impression on me. It was the first track on her album, "My Eyes Have Seen" and the first time I had ever heard (or heard of)Odetta.

Yes, I've noticed that in some of your videos. It does sound a bit strange to hear everyone singing in my own voice. It would be nice to have a real backing group, but we have to work with what we've got.

Yes, as I said to Stewball, my resources are limited. It would be better with the right equipment.
