@SeeSamSit As well as what I posted here yesterday, I remember my bro telling me he once saw #20 as "a 16-winged plane that crashed". Do you remember that? (I think my bro was pulling my leg actually)
@WillWatchAnything I guess you mean the last 1 is the fail? I always liked that 1 the best; my mom once said that when this clip aired in its early days, #20 fell apart when it landed. I'd sure like to see that; does anyone remember that?
I loved the weird airplanes at the beginning and end of this clip when I was a kid. I'd get excited any time the show was featuring number 20, thinking it might come up. I'm glad to see it here. I haven't seen it in some 25 years.
The #2 is the 1934 Nemeth Umbrella Plane, and the #5 is a 1933 Caproni Stipa annular. I'd like to know something about some of the others from #1-10...and #20, of course!
I think it's interesting how they showed us how airplanes have improved over the years, then at 20, they went back to showing us a very primitive form of a flying machine.
@SnowbirdFlock I've seen old footage of a plane with about eight wings (all stacked up) that falls apart before takeoff. He could've meant that.

Looks like some of this footage was re-used in "I'm a Little Airplane". And congrats on 550 posts, Jon! :)
