@LupusCaelestis And Annie, Sequoia and Mac-T went to private owners.
Apache and Lakota - as I am told - go for walks regularly on leashes. Their "homes" are also air-conditioned ^_^ This information is all about a year old now =/
Lastly, I have pictures from their time at Howling Acres (and a couple of Apache & Lakota in Tex) if anyone is interested, including you, Sir Adam.

@waya453 Aye. The last I was informed, the majority of the wolves were sent to the Wildlife Waystation in California. They were in quarantine for adaptation and observation, so they were not yet listed last I checked. Apache and Lakota went to the Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary in Texas. I think the site has some pictures of their new home. Wewonka (an ambassador) went to Utah and is a visitor of the elderly and sick.

@LupusCaelestis So I wonder if you are one of those ignorant and demented nut-heads as warped as nazis, or perhaps one of the previous staff members with a grudge (in particular those who came in hopes of a continuous wage outside of the founders' generous offering of $10 gas money), or maybe you've just heard from the wrong person. I'm sorry if you were only a misguided listener, but your words are exactly the same as spewed from the mouths of the those who truly tried to kill those wolves.

@LupusCaelestis the wolves cool in the Summer. It certainly looks like those wolves are having an aweful time with us, doesn't it? I assure you, I used absolute sarcasm there. Myself and others - to include the man who posted this video - were there for the wolves for everything from feeding, watering, medicinal application, play, howling rallies, on and on. When the day was done, some of us even stayed for hours later just to visit with the wolves, even staying the night on some occasions.

@LupusCaelestis I heard many a story from staff and returning visitors alike and personally witnessed the works of these so-called "committed environmentalists", to include a handful of them who were arrested for eco-terrorism in one of multiple attacks against the sanctuary. Everything from armed threatening of staff upon arrival on narrow entry road, arson, poisoning attempts (one death, one permanently handicapped), fence/wire cutting, vandalism of vital units such as water lines to keep

@hawkboymh I don't know what your deal is...but I worked there for the last couple of years it was open. I love wolves passionately with all my heart and I would never intentionally bring harm or mistreatment to a wolf. I met many neighbors who visited for the first time never knowing it was there to begin with, and they loved it and were fascinated the whole visit. As for the "abuse and neglect, threats of violence, property damage and false public accusations"...

If you ask the neighbors who lived within a mile of Howling Acres they will tell you a much different story of abuse and neglect, threats of violence, property damage and false public accusations from Charlie, Sherrie and their staff against neighbors and others in Williams were the norm. Many of them, like us, were committed environmentalists and animal lovers who saw what really went on there. Everything is not as it appears and Mother Earth is a better place since they closed.

we adopted Apache a few years back and were planning a trip down this next spring, so sad to see it has closed. I hope you found great new homes for these beautiful creatures. Thank you for helping them as long as you could.
@hawkboymh WOW! I am sorry you feel the way you do. Over my career, I have seen numerous sanctuaries, and Howling Acres was a loving, caring, refuge for the wolves away from the past horrors they had been subjected to. Did you ever bother visiting us or learning the backgrounds of the wolves before they came to us? As far as neighbors go on a day to day basis, we were subjected to a very different picture. You are right, things aren't always as they seem.

Is this place still open? Or has it closed?

@nicholeodian17 Unfortunately the place has closed I really miss it. Was hoping it would stay open but health issues of the founders coupled with no buyers led to the closing.
