I have a question, will there be a great sound produced if some drums were made up of both maple and birch?

Yo Mike, you should be playing with someone like Kung Fu or Umphrey's McGee

is there some cuban 6/8 on there?
what is a better drum set to get one with maple wood or one with birtch wood?
ThePrudence23 2 months ago
@ThePrudence23: Neither are better or worse. They are considered to be spot on as far as quality goes. The difference is in the pitch and the sustain. Maple is a slightly softer wood so it will have a warm tone with decent highs and a long sustain. Birch is a harder denser wood so it will have great highs, less bottom end and a very short sustain.
Maple - Big warm sound good for All styles
Birch = Short precise notes good for R&B, Gospel & Metal
Hope that helps,
Mike Johnston

What's the name of, the song you were drumming too?
DRUMMERMARK100 2 months ago
@DRUMMERMARK100: I put it at the end of the video. It's a play along from my site. It's called Latin Fusion and you can download it at mikeslessons com. Just go to the home page, scroll down the left side and click on "Damani Rhodes Play Alongs" You will find a ton of different style play alongs there and you can preview all of them :)
