I visited Nice a couple years ago and had the same experience. The most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure to visit. My ex-partner and I encountered a large group of drunk french youths and due to experiences here, were very worried. When the french youths realised we were British, they instantly started speaking english and were very respectful. Within moments of meeting someone new, the french people always made us feel like we had all been friends for years.

@zakooldude well you are leaiving in paris as a americain , i am a americain too, but i was born in france i wanted to come back and live in france , i have been in a terrible situation . i have no right here they tell me that i should go back to the us . i tell you what i live here is hell ,i am close to homeless but i will get my rights as a french citizen . what i see of the french is anger and more anger . i am here with no medical benefits that they are so proud of . shame shame

depending of everything Im French and I hate stereotypes who says we are snob, arrogant ... This is ALL bullshits, Im not like that, you have gd and bad every where, but a lot of american generalize, for you every one is in the same class, It is necessary to have everything to get a world, many americans could to stop the TV and medias ^^ but the guy on the video is right thanks all the same if I dont understand a lot of word^^

@LANman247 Ah. I should have guessed it... Montpellier is a nice city :) I've visited a couple of times, to see family. It's safer then Paris.

@010JuJu010 Unfortunately, it did ruin our weekend, but I think we will travel to Montpellier in the future and give France another try. I've heard that the southern part of the country is much nicer :)

I can't completely agree with Limmy. My girlfriend and I were in Paris last weekend. We were in the subway looking at a map in our travel book, and some asshole came up and spit in our faces and ran away - landed a gob right on the cheek. I have friends from Paris who are lovely, but apparently there are a few assholes there as well.
