Percy Faith & His Orchestra - Theme From The Apartment (Original Stereo)

Director Billy Wilder liked the work composer Adolph Deutsch did on his film "Some Like It Hot" so much that he asked him to compose the score for his 1960 film entitled "The Apartment". This bittersweet comedy/drama starring Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine, and Fred MacMurray would be nominated for 10 Academy Awards winning Best Picture for that year. Deutsch composed a hauntingly, beautiful theme from which conductor and arranger Percy Faith recorded this handsome piece.

The theme was actually composed in 1949 by Brit Charles Williams and is titled "Jealous Lover." There are presumably lyrics to it, but so far I haven't had any luck in finding them. :-(

The tune itself is indeed absolutely beautiful!

I lost this stunningly beautiful tune for some ten years. I would hear it coming over the airwaves, but nobody could identify it for me. Before computers and the internet there was little hope of me discovering. Imagine my joy when I found it again. Thank you for posting this w/ the nice video you put together.
