ALSO LEARNED THAT CITI PLATINUM MASTERCARD HAS NO PAYPASS AND CAN REMOVE THE OPTION. ALSO HEARD (though cannot confirm this) that this card has NO RFID CHIP IN IT!! (that woul dbe a nice bonus!)

Disabling paypass, don't cut out the chip, just put your card in the microwave for a few seconds.

@batsondceiling Thanks for your suggestion but not sure if that is safe. Great news is some banks IF you push will give you a card without the chip,I have seen this just the other day (this was visa not mastercard though and depends on whom one banks with).

or there is simply don't use the card unless one has to and then use cash when you can also can be ideal.

@oliversisson great tip but unfortuantly many retailers won't let you use your card when you do that. I can now safely say that citi mastercard (though i prefer visa), has NO PAYPASS NO RFID CHIP!!! CITI PLATINUM MASTERCARD PPL! thanks for your tip though!

IMPORTANT INFO TO HELP AT LEAST IN CANADA!**** taken from cbc "new credit cards pose security problems.

"Visa has been slower to market such "proximity cards" under its own brand, payWave.

Royal Bank decided only this year to make all its Visas payWave-enabled and all newly issued TD Visa cards have the feature.

****Notable non-players are CIBC and Scotiabank.** (for now, may want to try them and let them know to keep it opt out option).
