I wrote my project thesis in computer graphics. The title of my work is "Dynamic Skin Model for Muscle-based Face Animation". I analysed the previous work in this area, improved and partially implemented several muscle and skin models based on the mass-spring-system in Maya.
Construction of the skin

You see different layers of the skin. To create an offset surface used as an inner skin layer, the fascia I used my offset-plug-in. The skin model is based on a mass-spring-system. For the automated creation of the springs I have developed a further plug-in.
Skin stretching test
--------------------------------------
To open the mouth I only rotate the jaw bone. The skin stretches in a realistic way.
Skin collision/deformation test
--------------------------------------
Any collision with a rigid object causes the skin to deform. The surface recovers from the deformation in a fast and smooth way.
