  • What are the diameters of the thread? I think mine might be too thick.

  • @notofthisw0rld I used the thread manufactured by dritz. I am unsure of the diameter. It is widely carried by Walmart, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, and Hancock Fabrics.

  • what settings to use ? I have a machine that is BM2600. whenever i started running my elastic thread it will cut the thread thus stopping me from my work:( Pls. help.

I use the straight line but the dial is 3 and the tension is 9

  • @coscobusiness I was just using the default setting that my computerized machine is on when I turn the machine on. It is a straight stitch, 2.5mm in length, tension 4.6. Your stitch length is probably fine at a length of 3mm. I am guessing that your upper thread is breaking because the tension is too high at 9. That is really tight. The elastic stretches as you sew and makes your fabric gather. The more rows that you sew the more the fabric will take its new shape.

  • THANKS THANKS THANKS!!! I really needed to know how to do this ^.^

  • @luvlucky101 You're welcome. I am glad you found it helpful. This was only the second video I have made.

  • I figures that is what you did because I followed everything without changing the stitch tension. I did start off at stitch length of 2 and stitched a few stitches forward and back and then changed stitch length to highest, which is 6 on my machine (Viking Rose) and it worked beautifully. Straight stitch, no zig zag or tension change. Awesome and thanks for the prompt reply. Have a fantastic day!

  • @rvquilter83 Hi, thanks for listening to my video. I was just using the default straight stitch for woven fabrics. It was 2.5mm in length. This video was a tutorial for more explanation for a doll clothes pattern that is a "mock" smocked top. I was sewing straight lines across the fabric in rows 1/4" apart. You could make the rows further apart for larger size projects or use this technique for other decorative purposes.

  • You never said what your sewing machine settings are? I have a viking rose and I need to know what settings, such as zig zag or straight or what and the tension setting. Please help, thanks.
