@RuroiniStenchin I agree for the most part. But the isolated bass track for Tom Sawyer sounds amazing. It really brings out the overdrive on the solo track.

It sounds like a horse trotting on concrete.

@jbaranowski1990 According to Wikipedia, JM likes his action low in the studio and high at live shows to make it "more physical."
-
@jbaranowski1990 has sound has fret click out the ass. Note that click and buzz are completely different.
-
Well i mean he does have Asian powers.

Wow ! In my opinion factory standards for Musicman (2.4 mm for E and 2 mm for G) are a little bit to high and John play even higher ! His hands must be really strong cause i can't play as fast as him on string action like that (I've little higher than factrory spech too, but i haven't any buzzing even if I hard plucking strings it's clean sound. Of course i've Musicman StingRay).

@jbaranowski1990 He sets it a little higher than factory standards. Search "Rig Rundown: Dream Theater's John Myung"
He's action must be pretty high cause he's sound is quite clean without fret buzz even if he pluck his strings strong. Do youknow something about his setup preferences ?

@jbaranowski1990 *his, not "he's" ("he is"). I think this sound has fret buzz.

This is real, the fact is basslines dont sound good soloed, just check out the Geddy or Steve Harris isolated lines, in the mix they will sound godly though.

@RuroiniStenchin I have to disagree. They sound great in a song, but alone they are still good.
