My Name is Jon H. Kurland and I live at 17 Mansfield Drive with my wife of 37 years, Saralyn (Sara) Kurland. We have 2 children, Rachel and Scott.

I have been a resident of Chelmsford since 1991. We chose Chelmsford because we were looking for a quality education for our children in a community that was affordable.

I am an Attorney and Managing Partner at Kurland & Grossman, PC which was established in Lowell in 1979 and relocated to Chelmsford in 1994.

I decided to I wanted to give back to the community that has offered so much to my family.

I was elected as Selectman in April of 2010. Prior to that I served on the Chelmsford Finance Committee from 2002 to 2010, and as Chairman from 2005 to 2007.

I have also served as a Town Meeting Representative for Precinct 5 since 2005.

I have donated many years of volunteerism on various charitable organizations.

I was a member of the Lowell Rotary Club since 1985 and as President from 1992 to 1993 and Rotary International District 7910 Governor's Representative from 1993 to 1994.
I was a member of the Board of Directors, Goodwill Industries of Merrimack Valley,Inc. from 1986 to 1998 and served as Chairman of that Board from 1995 to 2000. I am proud to say I received the honor of being named Volunteer of the Year in 1996.

I have the honor of being a founding member of the Board of Directors, Greater Lowell Alzheimer Association.

I was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Lowell YMCA from 1998 though 2004.

I was a member of the Board of Directors, Chelmsford Swimming and Tennis Club from 1997 to 1998.

I was a member of Congregation Shalom Finance Committee from 2007 to 2009.

I wanted to give back to the community that my wife and kids benefited from and I hope that the residents of Chelmsford allow me to continue my service to the town.
