  • Infidelity was rampant with every male! Plantation owners with slaves?! Lord Nelson observed that, beyond Gibraltar, every sailor was a bachelor. It was not just common, but expected in an age of arranged marriages. Two exceptions, in that period, were Adams and George III, who seemed to genuinely love their wives and families.

  • Yeaaaaaaa boiiii.... I saw that wine toast with that hottie at the end there Johnny boy. You know Franklin was gettin it. Jump in there bro. It's all you!

  • @IrishAquarius no wonder venereal disease ran rampant in those days ( not saying it does now). There were so many "randy andies" out there which is why I think syphilis was more common then than it is now...

  • Was it Abigail Adams that suggested to her husband about putting women's rights into the declaration??

  • Just by looking at the way the French women gazed at Adams, there was so much opportunity to cheat on one's wife, it's disgusting! I know Benjamin Franklin had a huge appetite for women over in France...Adam from what I've read remained forever faithful to his wife Abigail...back in those times, cheating on one's wife was very common especially amongst plantation owners and their slaves...Women were second class citizens and wouldn't dare leave their husbands...

  • how elegantly said by Mr. Adams...

  • @notnilccm They're not in this scene, but you do see King Louis later when Franklin and Adams visit Versailles.

  • Can anyone identify who is Marie Antoinette or King Luis XVI? Thanks

  • I guess some generations must sacrifice so that future generations can be free to pursue their happiness.
