SCPA Dance Protest Surplus of dance teachers

Support for two local teachers earned six students a three-day suspension.
About 50 students conducted a "sit-in" during first bell at the School For Creative and Performing Arts to protest the lay-offs of two dance teachers Daryl Bjoza and Meridith Benson.
By second bell, about 60 students were taking part. Police were called and six students were suspended.

Whoever commented last should go away forever. sure there are some stuck up people at SCPA, I go there now, but you can't base such a strong opinion on that little fact, because you sound very ignorant and close minded. SCPA is a great school if you are into arts and want to make a career out of it. I don't think that the girl was being a bitch, and I also believe that our school should be treated more than a Cincinnati Public School.

i understand everyone is mad about it, but u have to understand. not everyone person in cincinatti is going to that school, not everyone gets accepted so they have to fund the other kids in public schools because most of the kids in the city go there, and if they got cut they did dont be selfish and want to get two ppl back for the expense of about 100,,000 other kids education. we dont only need 1000 ppl in the world to education. and i got to a performing arts school

I wasn't a dance major but he worked on one of the shows I was in.. amazing choreographer. I'm proud of the kids for protesting. SCPA isn't like your everyday public high school and the arts teachers shouldn't be touched.

Update - an SCPA alumna ( famous rock star) donated enough money to pay the dance teachers sallery to teach all year !

that girl on the video is a bitch and a moron. i went to scpa and it was full of people who thought they were better than everyone else back then too. i do not see how "being better than cincinncati public schools" entitles students to choose who is laid off or not. justr one more example of students from that school protesting something they don't really understand. scpa is a joke.
