@cmekill64 Yes of course, against the US, west Europe and lots of allies. If Germany could maintain a large and diverse enough empire or normalise relations to trade then sure it could survive but it's extent pre-Barberossa and blockaded meant almost no oil, few minerals and no money. Everything had to come through the USSR on mostly on credit. Russia did collapse before Germany in WW1 but it was hardly industrialised at all then. Germany like Japan is not as naturally powerful as people think.

@quarkwrok Germany could have sustained a cold war but not as long as russia ....do you remember that Russia collapsed because of economic pressure.

@cmekill64 The U.S. was an economic superpower. Russia was vast with lots of resources, but not rich but it spent A THIRD of everything on the military. Britain was a very industrialised small country with lots of resources and a vast empire. US, USSR and the British Empire were resource-rich superpowers. Germany was like Britain without an empire. It couldn't sustain a cold war, it would starve like in the 2 WW's. US, UK and USSR could each have won alone.
