A well-maintained oldmache that has seen it's share of important documents, recipe cards and shopping lists. Still types like a new machine, even with a slightly fossilized platen.

  • @plungerdrum I would've gone for the Oliver.

  • Oh, I LOVE the sound typewriters make when they're typed on...

  • @clockbuilderhg Oh yeah, they also have zero keys. Another rarity for they're time

  • @Stevopedia Actually, Oliver, and Blickensderfer typewriters all have #1 keys.

  • As someone who learned touch typing 45 years ago, I remain amazed at how fast individuals can get with their own form of two, four, six finger typing. There's a guy on YouTube who always shifts with the right index and middle fingers! Just fascinating. I never liked Royal machines but that's why they made so many different brands. Thanks for sharing!

  • That's an extra wide carriage isn't it? Nice.

  • I really like this video. I am actually thinking about getting myself an old fashioned typewriter soon. I was just curious how much you payed for that Royar KMM? There is a Royal KMM 1940's typewriter on Ebay for $190 and I was wondering if that was a good deal? I am a writer and a poet and I am wanting to get a typewriter to help bring out some creative thoughts the old school manner.

  • For a hunt-and-peck typist you are very good, indeed!! For speed typing the KMM is my favorite

  • i love the way the royal kmm sounds, and you type at such a pleasant clip as well.

  • I have the choice of getting an Oliver 9 for $80.00, or a Royal KMM for $15.00. I know quite a bit about both machines, but I can only get one. Help me!
