@Fil7boy Arcade Fire > U2 !

During the Conspiracy for Hope Tour in '85, The Police- in one of their final shows before breaking up- had U2 join them onstage and gave them their instruments after playing "Invisible Sun" together. While the performance had clear political implications, it was also a "passing of the torch" from one group to another. U2 seems to be passing the torch on in their own right, and the Arcade Fire are worthy recipient! If they are good enough for U2, they should be good enough for their fans too!

U2 is shit

I still don't think anyone gets it. It's a world famous band playing another band's song as their intro. There is no greater flattery. That's like a chef serving you an appetizer prepared by another chef, which he admires, before he prepares your dinner. :)

There is still a lot of people who doesn't understand that music, as an art, it's subjective....
you are like kids..my band is better! - no! my band is better!! come on guys, grow up...

Why have superior music playing to pictures of a shittier band?
Let me explain something to the simlpetons who enjoy pointing out the obvious.
Yes, this isn't U2.
Arcade Fire's "Wake up" was played over the speakers at the start of every concert during the Vertigo Tour. The house lights were turned off at the end of the second verse, then the song slowly muted, the band walked on stage, and the concert began, with either "City of Blinding Lights" or "Vertigo".
That's probably why KOelise decided to use "Wake Up" in their tribute.

Vertigo Tour was the first and only show I went to, it was great, and that's why I chose Arcade Fire cause it was a nice opening :)
