  • Excellent final remarks by Peter. He's right. And they all know it.

  • Peter Hitchens is quite right. The modern conservative party machine only elevates mediocrities. Nobody with any colour or conviction can make any progress within it.

  • That's rich coming from Iain Dale, considering the fact that he turned a marginal into a Lib Dem safe seat and failed to get selected for a seat this year.

  • I think Hitchen's transformation from a Trotsky to conservatism is reassuring, because it shows that he is unwilling to remain within a tribe that he fundamentally disagrees with. It takes guts to break free from the herd and challenge the prevailing orthodoxy.

    Ian Dale is showing himself up by trying to strike cheap low blows.
