This is a remake of my film "The Prayer of the Children" sung by the Baylor University Men's Choir.

This film is dedicated to the real victims of war, hatred and unforgiving hearts: Children.

This serves as but a part of my prayer for those who have suffered at places such as Columbine, Africa, Virginia Tech, Chechnya and other war-torn, hate filled places. Though we may not be able to cause the wars abroad to cease, we can cause the wars within our hearts and homes to end. Forgive and love others. Truly these small and simple steps can eventually cause great and powerful strides in the world.

"The Prayer of the Children" by Kurt Bestor and Sam Cardon

Can you hear the prayer of the children?
On bended knee, in the shadow of an unknown room
Empty eyes with no more tears to cry
Turning heavenward toward the light

Crying jesus, help me
To see the morning light-of one more day
But if i should die before i wake,
I pray my soul to take

Can you feel the hearts of the children?
Aching for home, for something of their very own
Reaching hands, with nothing to hold on to,
But hope for a better day a better day

Crying jesus, help me
To feel the love again in my own land
But if unknown roads lead away from home,
Give me loving arms, away from harm

Can you hear the voice of the children?
Softly pleading for silence in a shattered world?
Angry guns preach a gospel full of hate,
Blood of the innocent on their hands

Crying jesus, help me
To feel the sun again upon my face,
For when darkness clears i know you're near,
Bringing peace again

Dali cujete sve djecje molitive?
(croatian translation:
'can you hear all the children's prayers?')
Can you hear the prayer of the children?

  • this is the song where everyone shuts up to hear it.

  • Two people hit the wrong button by accident. At least, that's what I hope.

  • wow. harmonies and dynamics are flawless.

  • This is one of the best recordings I've found of this song so far on youtube!

  • I remember singing this song when I was in high school at the LDS Tabernacle. The words touched my heart instantly. As adults we hurt those who matter most and not even know it, our children. Bless the all children of the world.

  • i cry every time i hear tis so sad:(

  • The men's choir at my high school sang this a few nights ago at our concert. My friend went up and told us its story. Apparently a kid was so badly injured during the ongoing civil war in Yugoslavia that he got rushed to a hospital in Florida for a face transplant, only to go back and die not a year later. This slideshow was played in the background while they sang. Some parents stupidly said it wasn't suitable for child viewing. The children in it were real. It's not suitable for child living.

  • my choir teacher new one of the people who wrote this song and she told us why he wrote so she had my choir sing it and it was absolutely gorgeoues and we recorded it and have it in a safe file so we dont lose it it still makes me cry when i hear it

  • Excellent! Well done!

  • I am in tears. Heal the world.make it a better place. for you and for me and entire human race.

  • This is probably the most beatiful and most touching choral piece I have ever heard. I've heard a lot that have moved me to tears, but this tops all. It's fueled by such a powerful message. :')
