This drive begins in Sanford, Maine, where I was lucky enough to find a motel room. I took Maine Route 99 towards the coast, through Kennebunk, then Maine 35 on to Kennebunkport. I drove out to Walker Point, the home of President George H. W. Bush (Bush 41), then back into Kennebunkport, where I successfully parallel parked.

Maine is a beautiful place and one needs to slow down to appreciate it. This looks like a tourist (one of 20,000+ per year) that speeds down thru our country roads and "Let's just HURRY UP and get there!".. without enjoying any of the trip.. I was about to be Car Sick..!!! You did NOT stop at Walker's Point, where people like to look at Bush's estate. (Tho I would have sped up to get outta Sanford, but slowed down at Summer St., Kennebunk, where the cops are ready for you summer speeders!!

@mainlynancy the video was sped up considerably, probably about 6x, maybe a little more to get it all to fit in a reasonably-short clip. I usually drive at the speed limit or slightly below it, because I really don't want a ticket on vacation! not to mention, with the camera running, the cops would have evidence they could use against me (or I could use in my defense.) And I did stop at Walker's Point -- but I edit out the stops to get rid of pauses in the movie. thanks for watching!

Glad this video wasn't sped up to the point you couldn't see anything and therefore could not enjoy it. I would go so far as to say that there is not a better video out there of a Maine car excursion than this very one. Oh and did you use a GPS for this trip?

@shysterlicious yes I finally broke down and got a gps a couple of years ago, and now I'm completely dependent on it!
