these problems can be solved much more easily like so: the number of actors (pigs, cops, etc.) is inversely proportional to the number of days necessary - in other words, the more actors there are working on a job, the less time is necessary.
So, actor*time=actor*time. you solve for the unknown. the unknown is then multiplied by the ratio of the second job to the first. It's that easy
