Strenghened by Todi Jónsson's return to the side after the absence of their best player against Slovakia four days previously, the Faroes showed a very good performance for most of the game. But in the last twenty minutes they were tired and let down after the always reliable Óli Johannesen put the ball into his own net. Spanish team of stars then cruised to a tennis score.
But the game is still mostly remembered for Todi Jónsson masterpiece - his elegant little chip over Nadal in the first half and the classy equalizer straight after the break past Andoni Zubizarreta, then rated by many as the best goalkeeper in the world.
The veteran of three World cups was also beaten in injury time by the substitute striker Uni Arge, political journalist by his main occupation, to the final score 6-2.

@RomanBelvedere That was an average performance - one of the better ones was 1-0 against Russia by Faroese U21! Can also be found among my videos ;-)

@Farerets Haha, that was more of a WTF performance by Russia ;-)

@RomanBelvedere It is always easy to judge when one has never seen the game - I was there and the Faroese victory was fully deserved (fyi Faroes U21 have 8 points in the qualifying group with two not that difficukt games yet to play).¨The Russians were about to take lives of two or three Faroese players in the second half, so angry and desperate they were - but still they lost - against 1200 Faroese guys (never mentioning football players) at the age 17-21 to choose from for one national team!
