A smashing SMASH book

You can't avoid the Smash book, it seems. They are only pre-order in the UK so like many I made my own. The unique idea is the slider tray with pens, glue stick, tape and scissors (and soon a tiny stapler)

I LOVE your version! And your idea for the little pen box thingy is genius. I actually JUST saw the Smash book thingy for the first time a few days ago (I know, how late am I) and thought it would be kewl for me and my kids to have one for the summer but they're a bit costly for me to have to buy three so like you, we're going to make ours. Thanks for the inspiration....

Actually I think it would be a brilliant idea to have one for each of the kids to document their "what I did on my summer holidays" What amazing fun it would be to look back on them in a few years. Check out the How to videos by chrispea. I just watched it and she has some page designs to download and print that are so cute!

I love this idea. A whole lot better than the smash books. I especially love the pencil box idea. This is something that I will be doing for myself.

I'm going to make one of these exactly (except paper color) for my grandkids for the rest of the to keep on the desk and take in the car on trips for the year... everything from pix of school projects to stuff they pick up on vacation. With the box attached, its perfect!

Adorable!! I don't have a bind-it-all (it's on my xmas wish list) or anything that would put a book together so I opted to get the Smash book itself, but this is brilliant... the best part is the sliding utensil box. LOVE!!! Two Thumbs UP!! hehe.

LOVE this idea, especially the little box to hold supplies! The elastic closure is also a great idea! I am going to make one like this and when I'm done with the album/journal I will use the little box to hold memorabilia or keepsakes. Thanks for sharing your great idea- I'm excited about making my own and know I will like it more than any one I could buy! AND I can use up a bunch of patterned/design paper that I've been hoarding because I like it but only have 1 sheet ! Thanks so much!

WOW! This is really really cool! Love this! I dont have a smash book. I do have an art journal. But, now I want to make one of these. Love this idea! TFS! This is just so very creative... quite impressed! ;)
