@elispiderman Thanks! That's actually a spot light which is parented to the same null object as the particle emitter. The light's pointing downwards to a 3D copy of the background layer which has the transfer mode set as 'add' to make it look a little brighter. I also keyed out the background so the light only hits the hand.

Very cool. Did you use a scale-keyframed light beam effect to do that light the particle casts on your hand as it circles, or is that something else?
