A very good friend of mine...age 70!!! Roping a BIG cow while his horse is bucking! His friend didn't do as well roping the cow to bring her in. But everything was still fun & exciting to watch.

  • IDIOT you do not drive the trailer to the cow you drag the cow to the trailer cowboy 101 first day of classs they teach out that just after they teach you not to tie on idiots

  • @thelm0014 - Thank you for your nice comment. I see in addition to "cowboy 101" you have also taken "Ass101". I am not a cowboy- Just was filming. But have hired cowboys, most off of the King Ranch, who have done this their whole lives. ALL of them would rope the cow/bull, "hog tie them", then drive a trailer to the animal. It is VERY hard on both the horse & the cow to be dragging- So made sense, when possible- to bring the trailer to the animal.Didn't like the tie off either! But he is 71!

  • theres no way u can pull the cow in the trailer u need a shoot to get them in.

  • @MultiProhunter

Actually, we did end up pulling her in. I was helping with the ropes so couldn't film it though. And what's funny is that that little horse was the one that pulled her in!

  • @MultiProhunter

You can pull them in like that, You put 2 ropes on their head, get them close to the trailer and have one rope holding the cow while the other rope is fed through the inside of the trailer and out one of the sides towards the front. Tie it off then switch ropes or better yet if you have another horse just have them pull it in while you hold your rope and help push the cow in the trailer. This beats the heck out of building a portable pen to catch one or two sick cows..

  • @midnightcowboyra -You nailed it! That's exactly what they did. Or should I say "he" as in the old man doing the roping & work. The guy laughing wasn't much help. I don't know squat but threw a loop over her horns. The old man tied her off, then I helped with the rope that I got her with, he pulled her in the trailer. Cow wasn't sick, but mean & HATED panels or chutes, lol. So was a little wild. That's why he went to rope her. Enjoyed your comment- thanks!
