I highly recommend you click to read the description below!

Here at Imperfect Labs we obsessively soak up every bit of information for Guild Wars 2, so of course we couldn't miss out on another chance to play the demo for ourselves this year at PAX Prime! Knowing that I was going to be recording my playtime it definitely put the pressure on me to perform to the best of my ability, and sadly I can say it could have definitely be done better. I have a whole list of excuses including but not limited to: Strange keyboards, loud convention floor, overwhelmed with things to try out, time constraints-

However! We did manage to collect some video that you might not seen before for the mighty Warrior Profession! I picked male and female sylvari just to get in rather quickly, although I sort of wish I had done some Asura as well. The extra bits of wandering (and way more embarrassing) footage has been removed from the 80 minutes of original gameplay. You guys have seen it tons of times by now in other videos, I'm trying to do something very different here. The problem is- I'm absolutely horrid at editing and am using this as a form of practice. Expect it to get better with time!

The beginning of the video is for all the wikihounds and my fellow warriors who were curious about the skills and what changed, I'm fairly sure I missed a weapon in there somewhere.

Apologizes guys!

Skip to about 4:45 to get right to the action!

Part 2 starts at 10:28,

Part 3 is 14:38 and the finale is 19:14.

Originally the different segments were intended to separate the weapons and parts of the demo, but because there was so much of it and somewhat of a time constraint I just broke it up to these parts so it would be easier to pick at.

I didn't discover the undead zone until halfway through my first playthrough, hence why you see me fighting so few mobs at first, then eventually the much larger spawns later.

There is some group play that I originally was going to cut out, but decided to leave it in so you guys could get a feel of what it was like outside of a bossfight to have so many people in one area.

It's likely that this will be the longest of the videos, as the other footage is still being edited and a ton of it is flat out unusable. Hope you enjoy it, feedback is appreciated. Stay tuned for Guardian and Thief next!

Big ups to ArenaNet for making such an incredible game, we eagerly await a final release!

Be sure to check out their official page for the game and peep at the blog for proper information that scrubs like me can't provide.

  • I love the shaky camera when using hammer..makes it feel so ...destructive :))

  • @pigozz I wish they had let me directly connect to the PC itself so I could have recorded everything properly. The sounds that everything makes is pure ear-candy. Everything from shouts to the blade hitting a foe, they put so much work into everything it's downright incredible.

  • Do you have to choose beatween weapons?

Like if im gonna train in two handed must i ALWAYS have two handed weapons to be good?

Reply me pl0x, Also i dont really know if u are capbable to train skills yet

  • @MrAllfg Just using weapons as of right now eventually unlocks all the skills tied to it. Some weapons aren't available right off the bat, you'll have to raise your character level to have access to it, but if you continue to use the weapon you'll be granted new skills, just attack/kill mobs. From what I understand, it doesn't take that long. Profession based Elite Skills however, will require a task or challenge to be met. If I had to guess, Rampage! is from doing barfight minigames.

  • Nice video but why is everyone in every GW2 movie always clicking their skills?

You can reassign the keybinds so why click...

  • @Thonychil On top of it all, why would you reassign keys on a brand new demo game? What happens if you overlook a function? For example, Z is look behind you, and F is the interaction key, both pretty important, and they are normally keys I place elsewhere when I play other games. Not to mention the fact that I'm not even sure that replacing keys was possible for the demo. Again, I thought it was obvious, but I figured I'd speak my piece anyway.

  • @Thonychil also its a preferance, i use a combo of clicking and hot keys in GW1 and most games... it all about what more comfortable.

  • Good music, good game, what else ?

  • Hi, thx for sharing this video. I really like the class and seems like i am going to play the same one @release.

    cheers !

  • @Fervorism this might not be accurate what so ever so dont bash me on this... but i think they will be able to hold their own as a range character, but they wont have the same level of maneuverability as, lets say a ranger in pvp.

  • Dat aoe animation

  • (hoping warriors can do just as good ranged damage as rangers and thieves)

  • @ToniBJam1 I think FunSplasher deleted the actual comment I was responding to. But with regards to a specific release date, ArenaNet has not given one. True, they've talked about different beta events and they've also mentioned their intent to release this year, but like I said, they have NOT given a specific date.

  • @chngaaa Warriors are more direct less tactical more burst damage and explosive like in this video. Guardians use passive effects and warding and magic powered weapons and item to literally stop their enemies and their attacks in their tracks, while smiting them with holy magic. All professions can fit any roles damage/support/control, what counts is their play-styles and every profession has huge differences in play-style, that's how you'll choose a profession

  • @manggjiosdjg As long as you keep using your weapon the skill will unlock. It doesnt matter if its skill 2 your unlocking by using 1, or if its skill 5 your unlocking by using skills 1 and 2. As long as the weapon is being used in combat you get better at using that weapon hence learning more skills.

  • @MediaMaster9000 Incorrect my friend. I will be plz to tell you the day of the chinese new year was the YEAR OF THE DRAGON. In which Anet gave both beta and release timeline. They say that many ordinary fans will have gotten the chance to participate in the beta by May. Closed beta started mid December and currently going on. Expanded beta will occur during April and May. Release is set for this year most likely Q3 if not then Q4.
