Lalgudi Jayaraman plays Adamodi galade in Charukesi, accompanied by his son G.J.R.Krishnan on the violin and Palghat Raghu on the mridangam. I find the studio setting, the costumes of the artists, the attitude ......everything.....disarmingly simple and non pretentious. Notice how Lalgudi waits for Palghat Raghu to tune his mridangam and give him the "Go ahead" signal in the beginning :-)
Lalgudi sir at his best...that laya and tala control in the kalpanaswaras! And look at that support from Raghu sir. Laya-Bhava-Raman as someone put it....
