This guy was the real deal. People talk about Randy Rhodes being a young genius - but Steve Gaines was a triple threat - he wrote, played and sang songs.

@downpaymentblues311 I used to go watch him play in the early/mid 70's in Pittsburg Kansas at The Barn. Crawdad was the band. He was amazing.

what a triple-threat...guitar, writing & vocals....I started playing guitar in '71 and this man WILL always be my favorite picker....and maybe just behind Paul Rodgers as a singer...and that is saying something.

Last I checked his website was down, but its definitely worth the money.
