Triple Action Biplanes was the Mattel Intellivision programmers' favorite head-to-head game. And the undisputed champions were Russ Haft, programmer of TRON Maze-A-Tron and Steve Montero, programmer of Night Stalker.

On August 6, 1982, Steve's last day at Mattel, he and Russ faced each other for a final best-four-out-of-seven tournament. The tournament was recorded for posterity, with running commentary from Keith Robinson (TRON Solar Sailer) and Mark Urbaniec (Vectron).

You can play Biplanes on the Intellivision Lives! collections for PlayStation 2 (compatible with PS3), Xbox (compatible with Xbox 360), GameCube and Windows, available on the intellivisionlives.com web site!

  • I peed in my pants playing this game when I was 5!!! So funny

  • @Tagemandbagem By definition no your computer can not run this as it's lacking the necessary GI CP1610 CPU and supporting hardware ;)

    Thank goodness for emulators though.

  • My sister and I used to play this game for hours at a time... The tank game on this cart was also quite good. More fun than armor battle in my book.

  • @Tagemandbagem

Without an emulator it can not.

  • me and my dad ALLWAYS played this lol i was 10 loved it

  • Can my PC run this?

    Intel Core i5 2500 3.3GHz 1155

    Gigabyte GA-H67MA-D2H

    Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 2 x 2gig

  • amen to you altitude peeps

  • One of my favorite games ever!!!!

  • Wow, never played this game before. I searched for "Mattel Intellivision Bi-Plane (1981)" & realized it was on/part of the "Triple Action" cart, which I have (the ROM/emulator). Cool little game. I wish I could start or find a little online "Classic/Retro game lovers club" or something. A site where people can/do play rretro games online against each other on emulators that have "kaillera client". Maybe have a forum/message board for emulator/ROM help, & perhaps a "High Scores" section too.

  • Wow Altitude took this formula and built upon it.
