A couple of crash tests conducted in the USA against a roadblocker barricade system and rising bollards. The road blocker stopped a 6.8 tonne truck travelling at 64kph with nil penetration. The bollards were tested at the same tonnage and speed and stopped the truck within 10 metres of it hitting the bollards. In both instances the trucks were demolished upon impact.

  • I would love to see what these do with a fully loaded tractor trailer. 40 tonne

  • If the bollards were any taller, they'd stopped the truck dead on :O

  • why didn't he just drive around?ha ha!

  • Im suprised the tire survived

  • true!!

  • Id love to see the new bollard hit from the opposite direction.

  • It did lower completely, as the lip was the only part which was bent upon impact. Had it not worked fully after impact it would not have passed the DOS K8 rating. It was a straight pass or fail.

Although the central bollard was moved, the test showed the truck couldn't have gone anywhere afterwards, and although they didn't pass the new DOS rating, had they been tested to the older rating (which is still available) they would have still passed at K8, just with a lower debris rating of L1

  • Not so impressive as it may seem. The roadblocker was damaged enough so that it couldn't be completely retracted. The bollards were moved enough to show that they weren't very well anchored.

  • Impressive. Like the background music too!

  • at least it does the job lol
