Thrifty tips for good quality cosplay make-up (that won't rub off!) as well as a walkthrough on how to create a basic female face for cosplay, paying particular attention to defining the eyes as these are the most prominent in anime/comic/game characters. A lot more could have been said, but really the best way to learn is by doing! :)

I tend to ignore blush when it comes to doing my make-up - unless it's a particularly cutesy character or I want to define my cheekbones, I skip that step in order to have a flat face similar to the drawings I'm replicating.
Tips on choosing foundation:
When it comes to choosing foundation, consider how much coverage you'll need, what format you'd prefer it in -- it's easiest to apply liquid foundation, so if you're a beginner go for that -- and it's also really important to get the right colour. REALLY important. You obviously need to consider how light or dark or skin is, but you also need to consider whether or not you have warm or cool toned skin. I'd recommend going and seeing someone behind one of the make-up counters to help you with this. Don't rely on the adverts, after all they're photoshopped so much that you can't tell the difference between brands.
You're a really great cosplayer!
Thank you for this tutorial.

I love how when I talk to you IRL I always pick up traces of your English accent, and in here I really pick up the Kiwi in you!
So informative, you have no idea. It's always great to have someone who can explain everything so clearly. Incredible!

Nawww at the end with the cat waving, so cute! :)
Any tips on how to go about asking for samples? Personally feels weird/suspicious to me to ask straight up, or to ask at all (the make-up ladies I usually come across don't seem that friendly. :S). -unsure- ^^''

@plushieluff Sorry I took so long to reply to this! I often get my samples online, rather than talking to the sometimes snooty make-up ladies: my advice though is to either take the cheeky approach and ask straight out for a sample with a grin, or take the "I'm-really-not-sure" approach, um and ahh a lot about buying a product once you've tested it out there: still say you're unsure and ask if getting a sample is possible so you could confirm your decision later on & pop back in to buy it.
