To this day, I still think that this is the best music arrangement of Scheherazade in figure skating history!

jzamiris seems to be the one lacking in info here. michelle said she planned to compete in SLC REGARDLESS of what had occurred at Nagano!

michelle is overrated. she has no speed and is not as aggressive as past skaters. She is graceful I'll give her that but so are alot of skaters. Everyone assumes cause she has been skating for so long that she is really good and I disagree. Sasha did deserve third, Michelle did take home her medal. Michelle doesn't look like she enjoys herself, she looks stuck up and overconfident. Sara looked like she was having a blast and thus, she was probably more relaxed and why she skated the best.

I felt Micelle was overconfident and I feel over the years overrated. She has never been memorable to me, she is gracefull but doesn't have the agressiveness and speed as past skaters. I think she's been in the program so long every assumes she is "so good". Sasha did deserve third place, I think Michelle got third on sympathy. She doesn't look happy at all skating like she's not enjoying herself. I that that was key in helping sara land all her jumps she was relaxed and having fun.

and you seem to forget history is history and regardless of what happened michelle is the female skating idol of her generation to the mass public who isn't into skating and no one even remembers to hughes, lipinski, etc. are! get over it!

so much emotion,

this is so touching!! my eyes are warm every time seeing michelle waiting the marks at 6:40. in my opinion scheherazade is kwan's second best program, next to aranjueze

She's beautiful, on and off the ice.
In that case it's a blessing Kwan didn't win gold in Nagano, because then we wouldn't have seen the amazing programs she put together in the years after that.

Good analysis. Michelle's ability to recover from a mistake is phenomenal. It would be totally understandable for a skater who makes a mistake to lose the confidence to land the succeeding jumps. Not Michelle. She deserved a medal here.
