Coffee farmers in parts of Central Kenya say that there is little to celebrate following the rise in coffee prices at the auction in Nairobi. Those contacted by Ktn told of how they lost their harvest before they could sell it off to marketers in what they say has been a growing trend of theft that has gone unchecked. They say that financial institutions are also shying from lending to them in fear of losses, essentially incapacitating their mode of employment.
