Nick, it is good that you're studying the Bible. Don't ignore any of it.
God's perspective is eternal, and so does not have the underlying assumption that physical death is "the end". God created all that is, and so by your definition, if he EVER does anything that disrupts His creation, if He transitions a person from this life to the next, He is a murdering butcher. I have no desire to try to convince you, but if you're truly interested, I can give you at least some new perspective.

Hi nick-if God killed then so be it. He is God. God IS Love, so as an inferior being, I can only assume He kills out of love, either for those killed, or those who were living with those killed. Also Gary Glitter isn't God - thats why the analogy doesn't work here. We are in a position and have a duty to judge pedophiles. I don't believe we are in a position to judge God, but if you feel qualified to judge God it's between the you and God, right?
