How to take apart the drum pad & install silencers. (You can stick them on top without taking them apart but you WILL lose accuracy. I explain why in the vid)

  • Nice video, very helpful KnowOne!

  • I bought these silencers probably a year ago. At the time, they felt like a hard plastic-like material mixed with some rubber. Are the now more of a rubbery material?

Also, my current drumset has a bubble on the red pad. Would it be better to just remove the original padding from the red pad and simply place the silencer directly on top?

  • lol thanks for the mod im getting these today

  • @KnowOne Going on what you know about the silencers, would it be possible to attach one directly to the drum head itself if one of the pads had completely peeled away? Mine had been bubbling for some time and finally broke off entirely and I'm hoping silencers can save me the cost of new drums.

  • @MyCoolboy17 If you still want to know just message me and I know how to fix them

  • I bought som silences for mine. and my red kept ripping out with the bubble. So do i take off the origional pad with the color ring around it?

  • SO if you don't want to deal with re-affixing the rubber pegs to the drum head, make sure you pull out the pegs along with the drum head. I recommend positioning your fingers so that they grip the pegs when you pull off the drum head. If you can't do that, no big deal, you just have a little more work to do.

  • great vid. One thing I think you should mention in the info is that putting the pads back on is not as simple as "clicking" them back into place. If you look at 2:25 on the set, you can see the circular rubber pegs you mentioned, which go into the black holders on the underside of the drum head. If you want the drums to be secure, you need to unscrew to holders on the head, remove the pegs from the set, and then screw back on the holders with the pegs underneath 'em. THEN it'll click into place.
