Seachd - The Inaccessible Pinnacle.

A critically acclaimed new Gaelic language Scottish feature film has been denied entry into the Oscars because the Londoncentric elite of the BAFTAs don't think it is worthy of submission. Even the Oscars American Academy has demanded they explain their actions.

Scotland how much longer are you going to be complacent and let London decide what's in your best interest?

  • mate i know the director, he used to go to my school ive sat through an interview with him and guess what... HES ENGLISH! you wouldnt even have this film if simon miller hadent put in the effort to learn your language and make the film

  • Gaelic isn't my language (I am a lowlander I wasn't even taught in School how to pronounce Gaelic place names in my own country) and I know the director is English.

The English have many admirable qualities, I just don't want to be in the current unequal Political Union with them.

  • lol im not talking to you (sorry for putting it so blunttly) i agree with this you that this is stupidity, im talking to grunge who obviously does not know the whole fact of the matter

  • LOL nae problem! Thought you were talking me.

I can't see why Bafta didn't put this in to the Oscars, the Americans would have lapped this film up. As I see it inclusion in Oscars would've ensured it received far wider recognition, which would have benefited British/Scottish/English/Gaelic film-making.

Shame they missed this opportunity. I don't think it was a conspiracy more like a lack of good judgement or as you say "stupidity".

Better to have tried and lost...than never tried at all.

  • Recently I watched another good Scottish/German produced film called "The flying Scotsman" about Graeme Obree, the Scottish World Record breaking cyclist.

  • Have a look at the Trailer for this stunning film.

  • Londoncentric is not news in Scotland. We have endured 300 years of it, but our time is coming, because Scotland is uniting to drive Westminster out of our Country for all time.

  • Yep, they're still trying to destroy our poetic language. They should be ashamed of themselves, but the sad thing is that they will never know of the beauty that they are trying so hard to eradicate.
