Welcome to the latest edition of Top 10 Flashback, a video series that counts down the top ten hits in Billboard Magazine from the current week in a past year. I must admit, it's nice to be back on schedule again. This week, we're going back to August, 1987, when the FCC revoked the Fairness Doctrine, opening the floodgates for more, um, opinionated personalities to rise in the media, The Living Daylights, The Lost Boys, and Robocop were among the favorites in movie theaters, American Bandstand was winding up its legendary 30-year run on ABC-TV, and we said hello to hockey superstar Sidney Crosby, Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, and Gossip Girl's Blake Lively, while we bid a fond farewell to Academy Award-winning actor Lee Marvin and Clara "Where's The Beef?" Peller. And now, on with the countdown!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the songs heard in this countdown.

  • Well there you go Irish rockers U2 beat George Michaels' controversial radio-ban record 'I Want Your Sex' from the top spot of this week too, the following week it'll would be Madonna climbing to that #2 spot.
