How my newborn was bathed

My baby boy was given a sponge bath, then his hair was washed and combed. I didn't have enough memory to record the whole thing, but the shampoo came off just as gently as it went on.

It's actually not necessary for newborns to be bathed immediately, it is actually harmful to their skin. That is why they are born with a protective coating (vernix) on their skin, It should be left on as long as possible and gently wiped off with warm water and soft cloth, not soap.

Thanks for the info. That's exactly what happened here, except the blood was washed from the hair with soap.
