  • This ship has the silhouette of ..'DON'T FUCK WITH ME' ! The ANZACs have the silhouette of the Manly Ferry. I know which one I prefer !

  • @Dutchy1965 they were an awesome class of ship

  • Excellent video mate. I was an LSQMG on her from 90 to 93. She was and always will be a great lady.

  • @casper180966 thanks man I agree.

  • I just realised we used the same soundtrack. Great track eh! You did a great job putting these pics together. There are quite a few I wish I had.

  • @Dutchy1965 -- Incorrect .. HOBART was fitted with ULQ-6A modified with HPA (Did that course [ULQ-6B] at Treasure Island 1972). CPOETC on HOBART 1977 - 1981 ... twitchy (one of very few how served on HOBART, PERTH and BRISBANE in EW and Comms)

  • The original Ghost Riders Version by Baja Marimba Band is on you tube. Sounded great pouring out of the upper deck speakers, as the pedal to the metal breakaway song started with the rebel flag and later the Casper flag unfurled magnificently as the knots increased.

Bull Lever, Hobart 70 t0 75. At a Hobart Reunion in Mildura 2007 on the Ferry Melbourne they had a small Rebel flag with the Kangaroo and the Baja Marimba playing on our cruise up the Murray.

  • @turkshead I think the Ghostrider song we used for UNREPs was by Baja Marimba Band, it had lots of yeehaars in it etc.

I found it on You Tube but cannot post it here.

  • I served as a dusty on her 3rd deployment, what a ship nothing to match her now.

PS Green Ghost because of the tropical warpaint which was a green colour. I thought it was 'Hanoi Hanna' than named us that. It was after that our Rebel flag with the kangaroo was changed to Casper. Not a popular decision!

  • @Dutchy1965 yeah green ghost, not grey.

  • @saltytheseadog Not Grey Ghost...but rather Green Ghost and got that name from the US whilst in Vietnam
